Investigates all reportable diseases occurring in Jo Daviess County in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Provide community/individual education.

TB Skin Testing, treatment, and follow up care. Provide individual/community education.

Consultation on vaccinations needed for international travel and referral to appropriate sites to receive vaccinations. Health and travel information regarding travel is also available at the Health Department.

If you believe that you have been exposed to a biological or chemical agent, or if you believe an intentional biological threat will occur or is occurring, please contact your local police or other law enforcement agency and/or your local health department.  If you feel that the notification system for a mass emergency of any kind needs to be activated, please contact the Sheriff's Office.

The Jo Daviess County Health Department has staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any health related emergency that occurs in Jo Daviess County.

Office hours are 8:00 am. to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Call 815-777-0263 or toll-free 877-777-0263.

If you need to contact someone regarding an emergency after business hours, please contact the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office at 1-815-777-2141 and that office will notify the appropriate health department staff member that will address your concern.
