The Jo Daviess County Economic Development program is designed to serve all of Jo Daviess County, which includes the cities and villages of Apple River, East Dubuque, Elizabeth, Galena, Hanover, Nora, Scales Mound, Stockton, and Warren and all of the unincorporated areas within Jo Daviess County.  Our program is intended to provide for a centralized point of contact to facilitate economic development within the County. The services are currently contracted for through the Freeport Area Economic Development Foundation, Inc.

The goals and objectives of this program are to retain, diversify and/or expand local business, and to attract new business thereby creating new employment opportunities and better paying jobs, which will help sustain the culture and history of Jo Daviess County. This program researches, collects, and coordinates the distribution of data from other units of local government, the State of Illinois, the Federal Government, private sector businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and other agencies and organizations involved in economic development generally. The program also seeks to monitor the current status and future potential of the County’s economy.

·         Matching Projects with Programs

Provide a point of contact for potential development projects designed to match projects with the appropriate programs offered by the County, other units of local government, the State of Illinois, the Federal Government, or other external organizations
